Kathryn RobsonI joined Addysg Oedolion Cymru | Adult Learning Wales - the National Community College and Democratic Movement of Adult Community Learning in Wales - in 2016 bringing 18 years’ experience in leadership and management roles within the Higher Education and Further Education sector including remits for HR, learner services, additional learning needs, marketing and admissions, health and safety, communications and environmental management.

As Chief Executive, I report to the organisation’s Council (Governing Body) ensuring that a wide-ranging curriculum offer is delivered in communities and workplaces across Wales. I am engaged in developing strong partnerships to deliver a vision for growth in lifelong learning, prioritising those who are hardest to reach, empowering and upskilling people and delivering improved access to Welsh medium provision. I am committed to supporting health and wellbeing initiatives, developing strong resilient communities and promoting active democracy, and I’m actively involved in strategic committee structures within the Learning and Work Institute (Wales), the Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA), Regional Skills Partnerships and the Colegau Cymru Principals’ Forum, including membership of the Audit Committee.

I have previously been a member of the Wales Negotiations Committee, Further Education, from 2009 to 2016, which included the implementation of the national contract for the Welsh Further Education Sector. I’ve also chaired the ColegauCymru HR Network from 2009 to 2013.

Living in north Pembrokeshire, I am a Welsh learner/speaker working towards advanced level language skills. I am a Governor at a Welsh primary school and I’ve been a volunteer swimming teacher for 15 years.
