⏵College Accounts Direction - Department for Education

The College Accounts Direction for 2024 to 2025 states:

Stakeholders have a right to expect information on the financial performance and results of a college to be readily accessible. Accordingly, colleges must publish their audited accounts in an easily accessible location on their website: for example, by having a tab on the Homepage that says ‘About Us’ and then a subheading that says ‘Public Information and Policies’. To maximise transparency and to support accountability, this should be done as soon as possible after the accounts are signed and must be no later than 31 January 2026. Corporations must retain at least two years of accounts on their website.
⏵FE Circular 08/25 - Accounts Direction - 2024-25 - Department for the Economy, Northern Ireland Government

The Further Education (FE) College Accounts Directions for the accounting period 1st. August to 31st. July 2025 states:

c) annual report – by 19th December 2025
3.3 Once the final Annual Report and Financial Statements have been submitted to the Department and laid at the Assembly, a copy must be placed on the college website, in line with DoF Guidance

⏵Accounts Direction for Scotland’s Colleges 2024-25 - Scottish Funding Council

The Accounts Direction for Scotland’s Colleges 2024-25 states:

Incorporated and non-incorporated colleges are required to provide their annual report and accounts, together with the associated annual audit reports, to us by 31 December 2025. If you consider that your college will be unable to meet this deadline, please contact SFC.

  3. Trustees’ Annual Report
  4. External scrutiny report
This is a legal requirement, and charities must send this information to us within 9 months of their financial year-end date.

⏵Accounts direction for further education colleges in Wales for 2024/25 - Medr

The Accounts direction for further education colleges in Wales for 2024/25 states:

In accordance with the Financial Memorandum, institutions must make their annual reports and accounts publicly available, and should publish them on their websites by 31 January following the period end.
⏵Office for Students

The Regulatory advice 9: Accounts direction: Guidance on preparing and publishing financial statements for accounting periods beginning on or after 1 August 2019 states:

50. Providers must publish their audited financial statements on their website within two weeks of them being signed by the required individuals and, at the latest, five months after the end of the financial year to which they relate.
51. In the interests of transparency, providers should publish a minimum of the last six years of audited financial statements in an easily accessible part of their website. Where a provider has not been required to have audited financial statements for a six-year period, they should publish all available sets of audited financial statements until a six-year period is covered and should then, as a minimum, continue to publish the last six years of audited financial statements.
