Andy Green |
Andy Green joins the MET as Interim CEO from 10 August 2020 on a secondment from the Chichester College Group (CCG). He has been Executive Principal and Deputy CEO at CCG since August 2017; a £60m college with 25,000 learners across Sussex. He began his career in retail management, joining the House of Fraser graduate training programme after graduating from Nottingham University with a Chemistry Degree. He moved to Boots’ three years later but then retrained as a teacher in 1996, gaining a Master’s in Education in 2000. His career in FE now spans over 24 years, holding a range of senior positions at City College before moving to the post as Deputy Principal at Chichester College in September 2010. Andy held overall responsibility for Teaching, Learning, Curriculum and Quality across CCG and was nominee in March 2014 when the College achieved overall outstanding in their Ofsted inspection. He was also nominee when CCG achieved outstanding in all aspects for all four colleges in March 2020. Andy was the joint owner and Chief Executive of Brighton Film School, a private provider offering degree level courses in practical film making, from 2011 until April 2018. He sold the business having grown it from £80,000 turnover to £1.1 million turnover. He now supports his partner as CEO for ‘Smitten, lingerie to love’, a lingerie boutique. Andy is also a Non-Executive Director of Culture Shift, a CIC, who use the arts to help and support young people and adults with learning difficulties and disabilities. He is also a trustee of PACSO, a charity that provides respite care for parents of children with learning difficulty or disability. Andy is passionate about building skills and confidence in young people and adults, giving them the routes to their dream job or dream university place, enabling them to become effective economic citizens, able to make a positive contribution to their local communities. |
