What does the provider need to do to improve further?
  • Leaders, managers and governors must ensure they understand and fulfil their legislative responsibilities to children looked after and care leavers. They should ensure sufficient oversight of the whereabouts and well-being of these learners.
  • Leaders, managers and teachers must ensure apprentices’ assessment outcomes are used effectively to ensure teaching supports apprentices to improve.
  • Leaders and managers need to ensure employers are involved throughout the apprenticeship, so they are aware of their apprentices’ progress and the support they need to improve and achieve within the expected period.
  • Leaders need to ensure vocational teachers support all learners to develop and maintain their English skills.

  • Teachers should make sure that learning activities challenge all learners and apprentices, so they can achieve their full potential.
  • Managers must develop sufficient external high-quality work experience opportunities for all study programme learners to make sure that they are able to acquire skills for future employment.
  • Leaders and managers should implement and closely monitor their strategies to improve the number of study programme learners achieving their qualifications.
  • Leaders and managers must make sure that all learners have a good understanding of how to keep themselves safe from local risks posed by radicalisation and extremism.

  • Ensure that all teachers provide sufficiently detailed assessment feedback and set precise, measurable and aspirational targets for improvement, so that learners know what they need to do to improve their work further and achieve higher grades.
  • Share the best practice in the creative use of ILT more widely so that teachers in all subject areas use this confidently to enhance learning.
  • Implement plans for coordinating the work of the teams providing information, advice and guidance and develop better knowledge and use of careers resources to provide a more cohesive service to learners.
